In person, she's all of that, and charismatic to boot."

About the Author

Once a self-proclaimed wild child, Valerie Gangas now holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religious Studies and Women's Studies from DePaul University and a Master of Arts in Transpersonal (spiritual) Psychology with a graduate-level certificate in transformational life coaching from Sofia University.

After her mother's passing, she slid into a dark, suicidal depression, only to recover (her whole Self) when she learned Transcendental Meditation and had a profound, 180-degree turnaround of perspective-what she refers to as an awakening. Shortly after, she began working for the David Lynch Foundation, speaking all over the country about personal freedom, meditation and self-realization, and met Oprah Winfrey.

When Valerie told her story to Oprah and some of her top executives, Oprah simply said, "I want what that girl has."
